Are You Absolutely Excited To Get Out Of The House?

School is officially out for students of Fresno and Clovis Unified. Chances are they aren’t the only ones itching to get out of the house for some good old fashioned fun.

Many kid-friendly businesses are preparing to re-open to the public following health and safety measures directed by the Fresno County Department of Public Health. In accordance with social distancing guidelines, most places will be operating with limited capacity and will likely require reservations made in advance.

Minor adjustments and changes are to be expected. However, it’s a small price to pay in order to return to our favorite family hangouts.

Here is a quick run-down of kid-friendly businesses you can expect to visit soon.

MB2 Raceway STATUS: OPEN

Reservations are not required, it’s business as usual for anyone who feels the need for speed!

Fresno Chaffee Zoo STATUS: Re-opening Friday, June 12

In order to maintain social distancing guidelines, you must pre-purchase a timed entry ticket online. Zoo members must also reserve an entry time online. You will not be allowed early entrance and you might have to wait if you miss your reserved time. The zoo also recommends printing out maps online as paper maps have been temporarily discontinued. Some exhibits, including the Dino Dig, Meerkat Play, Wilderness Falls, Giraffe feeding, the Reptile Building, and Roo Walkabout, will be closed until further notice. The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is open daily from 9 am-6 pm.

Blackbeard’s Family Entertainment STATUS: Re-opening Friday, June 12

Ahoy, fun times ahead! Blackbeard’s is ready to re-open with a few changes. The waterslides will remain closed for the rest of the 2020 season. The Cap’n Kids and Rideland areas of the park will be open Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm-7 pm only. In order to maximize health and safety guests are encouraged to bring their own batting helmets, bats, and golf putters. Blackbeard’s Family Entertainment is open Sun-Thurs 10 am-10 pm and Fri/Sat 10 am-12 am.

Forestiere Underground Gardens STATUS: Re-opening Monday, June 15

This local treasure and Historical Landmark is ready to re-open for business. Reservations are required for guided tours operating from 9 am-2 pm. Self-guided tours are first-come, first-serve from the hours of 2 pm-4 pm. The gardens are open daily. Click here to make reservations.

Wild Water Adventure Park STATUS: Tentative re-opening late June

Wild Water Adventure Park is preparing for re-opening. They are currently hiring and preparing accommodations. They hope to have the park up and running by June 20 (estimated date) pending Stage 4 approval from Governor Newsome. If all goes according to plan, the park will be available by reservation only.

Other kid-friendly businesses hoping to return late June, but no definite plans as of yet include: The Discovery Center The Island Water Park Fresno Art Museum Arte Americas
